Customers who have low or seasonal activity might prefer to continue working in a paper environment rather than using File Transfer, MXClient or WebGate. EDI Gateway’s Fax-to-EDI service is backed by technology and staff who interpret the paper documents and turn them into computer-readable files for processing through MBS. This is how the Fax-to-EDI service works:
|
 | MBS receives purchase orders in EDI format from trading partners on your behalf. | | MBS translates the orders into human-readable format and sends them to you by fax (or e-mail). | | You process the orders and prepare them for shipment in the normal fashion. | | You fax the paperwork such as a packing slips or invoices to EDI Gateway. | | EDI Gateway creates Advanced Ship Notices (if required by your trading partners) and invoices, according to each trading partner’s requirements. MBS then transports the documents to your trading partners. | | As a value-added service, EDI Gateway prints UCC / EAN shipping labels and sends them to you by courier for next-day delivery. | | You apply the shipping labels to the cartons and ships the orders. |
